#AuthorAppreciationWeek - Stacey's top 5

Welcome to Author Appreciation Week! Author Heidi R. Kling is hosting the week so you'll be seeing a lot of bloggers and authors talking about their favorite authors this week and here on PageTurners we're doing the same! So I hope you enjoy each reviewer's top 5 authors! Follow all the action on twitter by searching #AuthorAppreciationWeek

5. Stephenie Meyer- I have made some of the best friendships and had the biggest fan girl moments of my life because of Stephenie Meyer. TwlightMOMS has allowed me to meet some amazing women, start this blog and have some great experiences and without SM, none of this is possible! As to my fan girl moment: last year before New Moon came out, I got to go to the Oprah Show to see SM. Being from Chicago, there's not a whole lot bigger than Oprah! And then to get to see one of my favorite authors be on the Oprah Show, I'm not sure there's anything bigger than that for a girl. So thank you to Stephenie Meyer and my friend Sarah for allowing a girl to achieve one of her goals in life!

4. Beth Fantaskey - She's only written 2 books, but I love them both! Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side is my favorite YA vampire book that's out there right now. It's fun and sassy and dark and twisty, everything i could ask for in a vampire book! Her knew book, Jekel Loves Hyde, is even better than Jessica's Guide, and I cant WAIT for y'all to read it!

3. Jane Austen - I've only read Pride and Prejudice but she Jane wrote some very enduring stories about love that I think every girl on some level looks at to show her what it's supposed to be like. And her stories continue to influence pop culture almost 200 years later. Her works continue to be made into movies and are influencing new books that are being written. Her lasting impact on the world is amazing for an author who couldn't even put her name on her first book.

2. Suzanne Collins - Mockingjay is the book I'm most excited for in 2010! Suzanne has written an amazing story that's full of politics and love and so much more! She wrote a book that in no way talks down to teens and I hope gets the next generation excited to be part of the political process.

1. Dr. Seuss - From One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish to The Lorax, Dr. Suess has captivated readers for over 70 years. His simple rhymes are have influenced culture and continue to be relevant today. The Lorax is the first book I remember reading that shared with me the importance of being "green." And along with his amazing stories, we also got his fun and whimsical art that is distinctly his. Dr. Suess entered my life at and early age, and I still enjoy reading his both fun and deep stories.
