Title: The Tear CollectorAuthor: Patrick Jones
Released: Sept. 2009
Rating:

Synopsis: Fans of urban fantasy should prepare for a new kind of vampire–one that feeds off of tears instead of blood. Descended from an ancient line of creatures that gain their energy from human tears, Cassandra Gray depends on human sorrow to live. Only Cass has grown tired of living this life and wants to live like a human, especially now that she's met someone worth fighting for.
I love vampires, so when I read the synopsis, it was a must read. It's different, but has a similar storyline to most vamp/human relationship stories.
To "adults" Cass is a great teenager; does well in school, spends her time volunteering at the hospital and setting up a peer counseling group. To her classmates, she is known as a heart breaker and at home she is struggling with having to sacrifice for her family.
Cass is an succubus, she feeds off of tears of sorrow. Because of Cass's actions she seems very selfish, but that is just her nature. Instead of comforting her friend, she makes it worse, but its done in a way, that seems comforting. It isn't until her friend commits suicide that she realizes her actions are harmful. When Cass falls in love with a classmate, her priorities start to change, she doesn't want to make him cry. When he is put in danger, she will risk everything to save him.

Wow, very interesting! I've always wanted to read this one :) Thanks for your review!
ReplyDeleteI have this one - started to read it once, but I just could not get into the story - not that the story was bad, but it was timing - I really need to revisit! :) Great review!

Hm, I've heard a few different things about this one. I'll have to add it to my Christmas list and read for myself. Great review. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes ACL injury cannot be made out in MRI scan. You may be having either ACL injury or meniscal injury which has to be confirmed by an orthopaedic surgeon. You might need arthroscopy. Don't postpone the consultation since you will land up in wear and tear of the knee in course of time.
ReplyDeleteI like your little write-up/synopsis of the book. I've been wanting to read this for a while, but the mixed reviews were making me a bit wary. I still want to read it, I'm just not sure where it will land in my TBR pile.
ReplyDeleteI have one or two - I may even actually have a tear drop itself. However, good ones are not easy to come by, and it I were to part with one, I would prefer to be compensated.
ReplyDeleteI've read this. It was very interesting...a little weird. But the end was really exciting. I enjoyed it!
