I told ya'll I liked doing that cover challenge, and that I would be using it in the future. So for our last mini contest, you get to create your own YA Debut Cover. I am not requiring you to write a synopsis, but if you want to we will give you an extra entry.
CREATE YOUR DEBUT YA COVER
1. Go to "fake name generator"
http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/
The name the name that appears is your author name
2. Go to "random word generator"
http://www.websitestyle.com/parser/randomword.shtml
The word listed under "random verb" is your title
3. Go to "flickrcc"
http://flickrcc.bluemountains.net/index.php
Type your title into the search box. The first photo that shows a person, is your cover
(Kids and body parts don't count-so you can use the first full image of an adult. If you want to use a foot or a child playing in the snow that is fine. I just didn't want you to think you HAD to use that image)
4. Use Picnik/Photobucket/Photoshop something similar~ to put your cover together.
5. Post it on your blog. Leave me a link in our comment box.
If you don't have a blog, you can upload it to a hosting site and link me to the image. If you want the extra point, you can post the synopsis in the comment box.
To Clarify- if you have a blog, you can post the synopsis there, you do not have to post in the comment box to get that extra point.

ReplyDeleteGenna's life was perfectly normal, except for the glaringly obvious missing piece.
Her father.
After sixteen years with just her mom and younger brother, her father will return and everything will change with a simple jangle.

ReplyDeleteAnd in case you can't see the description...
Walter never suspected that his father was hiding something from him, but after the crash he begins to hear his father's voice. The things it tells him are unbelievable, and he can't exactly ask questions of a father who's in a coma. Is Walter really the heir to a kingdom he can't even see?

ReplyDeleteHere's my synopsis:
One unassuming night, Zaccharias woke up in a cold sweat, screaming. Since then, he hasn't been the same. He walks around on his toes, talking to entities only he can see, scratching at his skin until he bleeds, and occasionally adopting facial expressions of sheer terror. As the days go by, his condition is getting worse and worse. He is losing his grip on reality at an exponential speed, seemingly tortured by something only he can see. Tara Lynne, his girlfriend, will do anything to save him, but what she discovers as she glimpses further and further into Zaccharias's new world is more horrifying and unexpected than she ever would have believed.
Haha I love doing these! Here is my cover: http://booksobsession.blogspot.com/2009/12/debut-author-cover-carol.html
